“I draw a lot of inspiration from film and stage sets and have created some pieces for the theatre. A shape glimpsed in a 1940s femme fatale’s apartment gave me the inspiration for this chess table.”

THE BRIEF

To create a bespoke chess table for a client’s husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

THE RESULT

The soft ‘40’s Hollywood style fitted with the client’s interior taste and the combination of Macassar Birch with Rosewood inlay stopped the piece feeling too retro.

Materials: Birds eye maple, ebony and wrought iron.
