“Arguably the most important room in any house, the kitchen must be a pleasure to work in and a pleasure to look at. My approach is to let a kitchen plan grow from a sound basic layout, adding if necessary. Clients come to me with ideas from different influences, often unrelated to kitchen furniture. I like to encourage the discussion of these ideas and realise them into practical and unique kitchens, adding their personal or bespoke details as a project develops.”

MARK GRIFFITHS

THE BRIEF

To create a new kitchen to suit this character property. Also to accommodate a dining area for the family to enjoy and as a place to entertain friends.

THE RESULT

An unusual room shape required a kitchen with strong traditional lines. Interest was provided by colour, timber and by using granite linking worktops. Personal details were added to match the family’s social needs.

Materials: Painted Tulipwood, English Oak, Italian Granite.
